Blue Ridge, GA - Kayaking - Taccoa
Posted by: KayakKido on Jul-15-13 9:19 AM (EST)

Planning on being in Blue Ridge, GA this week and weekend, me and a buddy are going up to my place any going to be doing some kayaking down the Taccoa River. We usually put in near Sandy Beach somewhat near Aska Rd.

If anyone knows of any good kayaking spots around that area, I'd love to know and check them out. We always put in at the same spot and get out at the same spot when we go, only because we've only been maybe 10 times. So we are looking to explore new spots!

If anyone wants to join us and/or if you can give me some info on cool spots in the area let me know! Thanks

Deep Hole campground, and run down to Sandy Beach.

There is a TVA gauge for the Toccoa, but I don't know offhand how to tell you to access it. If you join AW (American Whitewater Affiliation), you can access thousands of gauges all around the nation.

Most consider 300 cfs for the Toccoa to be minimum. I caught it at 600 cfs recently, and it's much nicer, not picky and with a few easy playspots.
