I am planning my first trip down the Erie Canal in August dropping in in Rochester, NY and then working our way down the Canal to Albany.
I am hoping to make this a camping trip with one or two support vehicles. Looks like it should take a week. You are welcome to join in on a leg or the whole trip.
Details to come as I gather more info.

Part of your journey takes you across Oneida Lake, approx 21 miles depending on whether you take north shore or south. This lake gets plenty rough very fast. 60 foot barges have been sunk on this lake. Pay attention to the weather reports, especially wind direction and strength before you cross the lake. Depending on when you get to this part of your journey, I may meet you in Brewerton at the west end and accompany you across. I've done this paddle on both shores many times.
