Why so many boats going through Kansas?
Posted by: monstor on Jul-08-13 2:43 PM (EST)

I just got back from a family event near Tulsa, OK and drove through Kansas yesterday and today.

I saw over a dozen vehicles with multiple rec & touring boats on top on I70 and I35 heading East and South.

Anyone know of an event in that area?

They could've been going back home FROM a western or northern trip over the long July 4th holiday stretch.

in Colorado rivers must be running out and leaving people headed home.

My job used to keep me from getting to CO in June, and most years, by the time I got out there, I had to research what rivers ran in summer because they were supplying ranchers and farmers with water. Caught the Taylor in a dry year, and the Blue below Green Reservoir. But I ran Browns Canyon at around 500 cfs, and hardly anyone else was on the Ark.
