beginner looking to paddle with someone experienced. I'm looking to paddle during the weekdays. Weekends are probably not an option due to spending time with my young kids. I'm only interested in day trips at this time.

charlotte county, appomattox, farmville, halifax, prince edward, or other spots.. just message me to discuss

Is a paddling group that tends to be centered around central VA - especially Richmond. They also tend to be whitewater oriented, but they do have other folks.

  Staunton River at Brookneal

I regularly paddle the Staunton River from Long Island to Brookneal. This is a great beginner run and sounds like it is in your neighborhood. The James River has many great sections above Lynchburg (my neighborhood). Both rivers are dam release, so we have enough water all the time, even in droughts. I am a Coastals member and we have trips going out in central Virginia nearly every week.
