Yep - - looks like I might get some time to hit the water.

So where and when are the locals getting together.

Check out the string just below this one. Join 100+ Kayakers at South Bass Island on June 7-9, for a full weekend of paddling and socializing. We'll have paddlers from all long the north coast and beyond.

It's been a couple years since I have been on the water due to an excessive amount of work amongst other items. Haven't done any camping either.

it caught up to me recently with a couple of heart attacks (of which I wasn't aware I was having) and just recently a stent in the "widow maker".

Not sure as of yet how much rehab I will be needing, so I don't want to 'go big' right off the bat.

At this point, I don't think it would be prudent to be out in the middle of Erie and have an issue and put others in a bad situation.

I'll see if a day trip up to the islands, but not scheduling it in as of yet.

  Good luck

Sounds like you have some heath hurdles you need to get over before you do much paddling. Just be safe and don't put anyone else in a bad situation, like you mentioned. Come on out for the Rendezvous Pot Luck on June 7th. You'll get to meet lots of paddlers from the region.

Im in Celina, OH which is about 3 hours from Sandusky. I try to get out on Grand lake about once a week before the Algae blooms again.
