My son lives in Columbia. He and I have paddled it a couple of times. The water level is determined by the opening and closing of the dam. He told me, you can camp along the river....just camp ABOVE the high water mark. The river is beautiful. There is a ramp above the zoo, then rapids, then calm, then IN Columbia, small rapids, then past the old locks, fairly calm water and city boat ramps. A good place to put in. Watch the water levels though. It goes up and down fairly quickly and always has a bit of current flowing. Good paddlin'!!!
