Looking for some ideas on paddling in Northwest Indiana. I just got a new touring kayak and need some ideas on day trips in the area.

Try the Michiana-outdoors group. They know all the floatable water up that way.

Congrats on the new boat, I'm from Whiting and paddle my end of the lake alot during the warmer months. Mostly paddle out to the breakwall, cal park and up the other waterways or industrial canals there pretty cool.Drop me a line when the weather breaks and I'll give you an industrial tour.

They do paddling excursions in adjacent states and should be close by. The Illinois Paddling Council website should give you all the contact info: http://www.illinoispaddling.org/clubs#caska

The Hoosier Canoe Club is a sizable group based in the Indianapolis area.
