Sounds like you saw a little carnage. Out of those that tried it only one that I know of made it without damage. We portaged. Sure was a nice day.

I took the year off but my wife and son did the marathon. She was in a pink QCC and he was in a beige QCC. I was perfect weather and water. Fun weekend.

Thanks and the videos are great

Those two guys, in the Dagger, were wondering if any one got pictures of them running the rapids.
We told them who you were and to look on P-net. If they don't contact you, let me know and I might be able to get their addresses from the Black Water River race, (the Edistoe) from some previous years results.

Congrats to Marcia and Douglas Gibson on their first places in their respective divisions

I'm the bowman in that Dagger that ran the shoals. Thanks for posting pics but for some reason I cannot connect to that link. I will try to copy and paste again. Anyway we had a lot of fun and look forward to next year. See you on the river!

Ken, why not you in the Voyager?

Wasn't I with you when we saw 2 guys get dumped there a few years back while we were portaging? Was that Jack and Nanci in the tandem canoe?

Yes that was Jack & Nancy

Couldn't use the Voyageur because I took a buddy who was not a paddler but wanted to go camping. He had a good time and wants to go again. I have to admit I got a quilty pleasure using that square stern canoe with a Honda 2.3 4 stroke motor on it, especially going upstream with a fully loaded canoe after the race. Next time we will motor upstream and float/paddle back to the put in/take out.
