I did a longish too fast trip

the river was just barely open due to high water. This was about four years ago..so there is hope of the return of high water.

I put in at Baptist. First night across from Welch Springs. That was a half day paddle. The upper river was twisty and there was a sweeper right across a rapid that I had to portage.

Second night was just below Round Spring.
Next night somewhere near Paint Rock and exited at Big Spring about 1 pm the next day. Next trip at more normal water levels I would expect to be five to six days.

There is too much nice scenery to be rushing the 98 miles of this trip.

You can pick a lesser chunk of distance of course.

I can't make Rendezvous this year to try and see how far behind Pete I can get. I am taking some courses and have to sandwich trips between classes.

In 2013 I certainly want to try and make it and probably merge the Rendezvous with a Buffalo River trip.
