Mountain Lion sightings are getting more common, although; the MO DOC's "Canned response" remains "We have no proof that they breed here." I saw my first "Wild" mountain lion this spring myself, and o few weeks later one was trapped near here.

More elk have been stocked at Peck Ranch, where re-establishment of our elk herd is centered. Some of us took a fruitless rainy day trip to Peck Ranch last year, but chances of seeing/hearing elk are better this year.
