Kayaking Cranberry Lake, NY: Aug 20-23

The wife and I are planning on making a camping & kayaking trip up to Cranberry Lake, NY. She'll have a freshly built kayak, so I bet she's going to spend a good part of those days on the lake. As much as I want to go rustic and occupy one of the more remote camp sites, my wife has reserved one of the more civilized sites (she mentioned something about bathrooms and running water).

We'd love to see some more kayaking folk there. Anyone interested?

Rebecca and I will probably be doing a day trip (we live quite close) on Cranberry on one of those two dates.

Depending on the weather, we will be putting in at the State Campsground day use area swimming beach.

Hope to run into you there, then. We should be camping on the peninsula. Not sure what the bank looks like around there... if it's steep enough, we'll cart over to the beach and put in there.

Took my first swim lessons on that beach... well, the first lessons that took place in a lake, at least. Never thought I'd be launching a kayak from there twenty five years later.

We had to cancel the trip: puppy won't have her rabies shot by that time, so camping is out. We'll try next late spring or early summer next paddling season.
