Jacksonville, NC female Kayakers?

Beginner Kayaker looking for people to go out on the water with. None of my friends want to try it and I love it!

Name is Sherrie get up with me if you want to plan a morning out in the vacinity of Jacksonville NC.

Weekends are best but I can plan ahead for a day off during the week.

Would love to find a group with planned outings, but not finding much online. :-(

I occasionally go out on my own on base, but never very far for safety reasons.

the lumber river Canoe and kayak group. They seem to have avery active group down there in the lowlands..

I believe there is a pretty active paddling group in the Carteret County - Morehead City - Beaufort - Swansboro area. They have produced a whole series of maps with paddling routes in the area. Lots of great areas to paddle, such as the marked trail at Hammocks Beach State Park and Cedar Point Recreational Area in Croatan National Forest.

Could try http://www.meetup.com/TRREC1/. While centered around the Greenville NC area, have many away adventures, including this Jun 22-24 weekend down at Lumber River State Park. Just thoughts, R
