busy campsite. But it is the jumping off point to a number of small ponds that can delight. Most have no vehicle access but you will see people. The portages are short for the most part. The book and map recommended by others is very informative. The ponds are small enough that they are sheltered. There are many other ADK paddling destinations but this one is the best for small kids. Swimming galore. This is a good opportunity to be enjoying your kids by yourself for a few days The area abuts the St Regis Canoe Area. Now you may hear about it referred to as wilderness.
