Anyone going to the Bullhead City Kayak Race on 12-13 August?

I never even knew about it until a couple days ago. Sounds like the kayak/canoe races are secondary to the tubers, but I'd still like to try it sometime.

Afte a LOT of careful reading, it looks like the Kayak Race is Friday with the tubers on sat.

I'm planning to go up Thursday to rest up before the race, then come home Sunday.

I went to the 2011 race which was fun.
Friday was the kayak race with prizes.
12 miles downriver, they cleared the river of speedboats. No rapids but some eddies. Nice event.

Sat was the tubing. We tied a couple tubes together, filled the camelbak with Rum punch and floated the same course watching the floats and such.
again, great time.

The 2012 event is 10-12 August so I am planning to attend that one too.

I got my thumb sliced open by someone with a sickle in the park so until it heals, I am landbound!
EVERY boat & camp plan I made for August is gone!!!!
