Snelled hook holder instructions please

I picked up one of these at Academy and can't for the life of me figure out how to use it properly. It is obviously designed to hold snelled hooks(which is what I want to use it for)but it's got me stumped. Anyone have one of these and can give me any guidance on it's use?

On the little hooky looking things on the holder, you put the loop of the snelled hook. Then you slide it up a bit and put the hook into one of the spaces so that it pulled by spring tension and the snelled hook is all nice and neat.

Makes sense now. Unfortunately, is doesn't work very well with circle hooks so I guess I can't really use it.

I've never seen a snelled circle hook before, but I expect it wouldn't work very well.
