Water's greening up early

We haven't had too much rain. We've had some good sunny days. I'll bet the water temps are over 40 and may be approaching 45. It's getting time to check the battery, inflate the raft, pull a trolling motor, and see if the fishies are cooperative. Next two weekends are booked already though. So... harumph. As usual, I'll have to satisfy myself with the idea of fishing and not any actual fishing.

I've walked off different parts of my home town creek each day this week. Yesterday in addition to the greening up, the baitfish were active in the shallows. Warm rain and 70 degree air temps today should have the creek rocking. Time to test the new fly rods, I think.

impetus to hit the creek, I caught 35 smallies day before yesterday. Biggest just under 18 inches. Water temps were in the mid-40s.
