Generally speaking, we'll be trolling while we're paddling during the day - that's a matter of maximizing the return on investment of all that paddling we're already doing. We've pulled in a ton of Smallmouth over the years trolling that way, including a trophy sized one up on Mink Lake in Algonquin by my oldest son.
