I need to get a boat wet
Posted by: Big_D on Mar-18-11 9:46 AM (EST)

Perhaps it's time to take the canoe over to the reservoir. Not exciting, but the water is as wet as any other and while the fish aren't exactly cooperative there are some big largemouth roaming the depths.

Tomorrow is the weekend. What will I do?

..... where ever you make those cast .

The chances of a nice spring Largemouth ought to be pretty fair right now . The older nomads should be first to move into prime zones ... best of luck !!

ps., ... don't discount the Crappie holds ... bobber and "small" minow on dart or #6 hook , 4 lb. line ... look deep (20+ feet) over cover (submerged trees , etc.) ... good , no make that great eatin fish those Crappie are !!

  Got my raft ready

It's all registered and compliant and everything. I love the idea that it's a 1 person raft and I have to carry a throwing Type IV PFD in it because it will have an electric motor. I'm not sure how a 16"x16" PFD is supposed to help me if I can fall out of a 4'x11' raft. Nor am I sure who is going to throw it to me once I fall out of the sole seat. But, it's a reg. What're you gonna do?

so you will have it to throw to someone else in the water. Good luck fishing. I renewed my licence Sunday. Our licences run from 4-1 to 3-31 which was just recently changed from the usual calendar year. I hope to get on the water soon as ice is off all of the water not in the mountains.
