not for trolling etc, but for storage when paddling, we used to fix a 2" pvc pipe on the inside under the gunrails, but i am loath to put holes in my baby... any ideas??

I just lay them on the deck tucked under seats. I usually have some small bungees along to lash them to the seat if it's getting into a squirelly area. Most of the places I canoe are mild current.

I use 2 inch PVC pipe also and all I do is bungee the pipe to the cross thwarts. Remove them for loading onto vehicle. Easy, cheap (frugal), no holes, works very well.
