this fall i found an Old P&H baidarka explorer for sale really cheap.
As a big Hutchinson fan I bought it and a good friend got it over from bergen to my place.
yesterday i had my first paddle with it and it did very well in rough conditions on norways 4th biggest lake. It IS not easy to turn in waves and wind, but its possible. It will hold its course as on rails, nomatter what. It was less prone to Leecocking than i expected/feared. With its deep V hull it has a smooth gentle ride in waves. I guess its fast but it was too much wind yesterday to find out how fast. all in all i think ive found a good seaworthy ocean touring kayak, and a lovely design.
