in NW South Carolina.I have talked to the head ranger at Devil's Fork State Park and he is supportive, which is good because his staff will have to handle the parking.I have also been talking to Friends of Jocassee whose members include outfitters and other businesses who depend on the lake.
Thinking spring at the earliest. Lots of work to be done to achieve that.
Suggestions from racers are welcome and needed. I'm thinking for the initial event, we would have a long course(20+ miles) and a shorter one suitable for rec boats.

There are few lakes as beautiful as Jocassee and I would be interested in being a participant myself. I hope it comes to fruition.

Do not forget Stand uppers. There is a phenomenal amount of them from the Knoxville to Atlanta surrounding area. I'll be there for sure.

Typically the races will be the same weekend the following year so you should be able to predict the potentially conficting races when you decide on a date.
