Congrats to Janet Moreland for her historic descent of the Missouri River from its utmost source in Montana! Janet reached the confluence of the Missouri-Mississippi yesterday afternoon to become the first American as well as first women to descend from the rivers source at Browers Spring!!!
Awesome to think when so many paddlers are going to remote places all over the world to rack up a first descent that our little ole river that runs right though the heart of America has never been paddled from its utmost source by any woman...solo....or an an American!!! Way to Go Janet.
She continues through St. Louis this afternoon and onward to the Gulf of Mexico with plans to arrive there about the mid part of November. Once completed Janet will have paddled nearly 4500-miles ....North Americas Longest River system!!
