Just a nice paddle through the salt marsh organized by a coastal conservation group. We stopped for a break on a barrier island and got a nice swim in the surf.
We really enjoy our time in the tandem. It's fun maneuvering in it. It's great working from behind the pivot point, or in front of it for that matter. And it just adds a whole new dynamic working as a team. Wonderful fast glide through the water too. If you know how to handle a paddlecraft, I highly recommend it. It's just a different experience from solo paddling.

Laine's pretty smart. When it comes to the more challenging stuff, she's very quick to wish me luck. No, she's never even pretended to want to get into the more grueling side of kayaking. You've seen her cheer for us in races from the shoreline. She picks up on all the skills fairly quickly, but she knows where to draw the line for herself between enjoyable and grueling.
