Rented a Villa(nice cabin) so my wife would go.
Day 1 - annual Jocassee Volunteer clean-up day. paddlers and power boaters hauled in a bunch of trash. I paddled 3 miles before I found the trash mother load in a small cove. Got a free t-shirt and hot dog. When I got back, my daughter's family had arrived, so back to the water. All 4 of them enjoyed the boats.
Then we played 18 holes of disc golf.
Crashed and burned.
Day 2 - the kids left and my friend showed up. No paddling that day. Hung out, caught up, and rested.
Day 3 - paddled the circumference of the main part of the lake. Got back in time to grab a bite, then off on a tour of the lake and waterfalls by pontoon. Yes, a pontoon.I had paddled most of the places we went and was surprised at how long it took to get there in the toon.
A few photos:
I also talked to the ranger, and the state is working on having some paddling races on Jocassee.

I know a few NC paddlers who would travel down for that!

Weather could make for some sweet race conditions. If the races are over 20 miles, I know a lot of folks that would come over.
That is exactly what I told the ranger.|

Now I know him and have been known to be quietly relentless.
