Thanks to working delivery in 150miles radius of home lately.(Paducah my) i can add another river to my list of places paddled.passed the he ARA area so many times the last few weeks.checked it out online then checked drive time and distance. Just about the sa.e as driving to LBl spots I like to use. but not a fan of the motor boat traffic in these places. Tried the Cache River in Cypress ILLINOIS after seeing the signs for it so much lately.was more of a marsh or swamp type area.which was unexpected so close to home. No need of shuttling.marked canoe trails and didn't seem like much of a place for motor boats.(10horse limit. with lots of stuff that probably would not easy on blades. very nice options on how far to go.(1-6 miles round trip)would never of known about it if not for seeing the signs and doing my homework.guess I should be more open and look better for places to paddle. Not a fan of driving around Illinois but found a gem.plus a few Other places along the same drive rout worth checking out. Would of missed out and never knew about it.all because I prefer Ky,TN &Mo to paddle. No telling how many other great paddling spots that are close that i
am missing out on.

Mike, I wondered where that was when I saw your photos on Facebook but hadn't gotten around to looking it up. Looking like an interesting place for a leisurely paddle. The cypress swamp is a great change of habitat compared to the northern forested lakes and streams here.

Have crossed it a few times and wondered about it. Looks like a neat area to explore?
