was wrong.. there is no such thing as a snap turn. Interesting and headscratching as he has had a couple of FreeStyle lessons. And its kind of a useless question. His answer is not useful either. While J strokes are used, classic Northwoods paddling is done with a Northwoods stroke. And that never enters into FreeStyle.
But I do agree with his lining. Lining is done downstream. Keeping the stern in is imperative. Let it get out at an angle to the current and away you go!
Wood canvas canoe do not have to have keels. I have three of those. No keels.
Now I am wondering where to find a 17 foot touring Royalex boat with fine ends.. Aha..must be talking Wenonah!
Kneeling in rapid is a no brainer in a fine ended boat with a low seat. You wind up so far forward there is no stability at all as you can't get your knees under the seat. However a seat further back is fine for kneeling if you have sufficient room to actually form a tripod with knees and butt. Again he is talking Wenonah.
Actually I agree with just about all the rest.
