Got on the water around 7:00 AM on Saturday. Had the northern end of Split Rock all to myself. Fisherman had the southern end.

Glad you stopped there|

So it wasn't my imagination or my hearing! The sound was similar to light rain falling on water, yet I thought it might be air bubbles as well by the lily pads. I looked closely but didn't see any sign of bubbles. But the sound was so pervasive and I'm still stumped!

Looks placid. I like the light playing on the water.
Really nice shots!|

That is one beautiful place. Reminds me of some of the lakes "up nort". Bet its pretty good fishing too.
Beautiful light that time of day.|

Especially when September rolls in.

Why don't we get together some time and I'll give you a tour of the lake?
Sounds like a plan, Andy.|

I'm stacked up pretty tight in September though, been working in NYC(and living there 5/6 days a week)on a contract job in the theater district. Had my old truck break down along the Westside highway last week(talk about real hell--and expensive)while scouting a potential paddle during my down time, from West 79th Street boat basin to Brooklyn Bridge(and back).
Looks incredibly inviting|

Wish I was there right now, with that beautiful boat there for me to paddle.
If you ever|

come up this way, I'd be glad to let you paddle the Artisan Millenium and give you a tour of Split Rock.
