On my first trip to the Allagash it was my wife and me in a canoe and her half-brother following us in a whitewater kayak (a small boat to be in for five days I thought).
Have a great time. |

And so should J. Butz...you guy's were given the heads up a while ago. But it's understandable trying to get that much time off. I gave my work fair warning well over a year ago and got their blessing then. Then followed up with reminders every few months to hold them to it.
Wish I was joining you, too, Mike!|

Hope you're into a fair journey (maybe still in the car somewhere near your start, maybe at riverside or underway by now)!
Is it okay to be envious???|

You blackguards...Stoked to the gunnels with New Enland brews too, I assume...And nothing beats an in-between season trip--No bugs, no tourists, and (yeah, I'll say it)prolly no kayakers too. Smooth paddling y'all.

We did encounter a nice couple paddling touring kayaks on Eagle and Churchill Lakes.

trip so I see they have been taking life easy. Actually the river is running WAY higher than normal so they may be being cautious.
We'll soon find out...|

Rain and high water might have something to do with it. We'll see.

We had a fierce headwind on Chamberlain that held us back some. And we took a rain day at Round Pond Outlet.
