To Norbert's friends and family. Truly a sad day. I first met NT at the first Raystown we started 14 years ago and many since up to his health problems. He was a true paddler and woodsman. His way with wood and the paddles and things he made were art.
My fondest memory of NT was when he set a fishing line and then turned and chatting with a small group of paddlers not paying attention to the line. An 16" Large mouth bass hooked up and started to run away with the fishing pole. NT scrambled to retrieve the pole before it was dragged into the lake. After reeling him in NT stated "That's my kind of fishin" .
Another memory was his famous Venison sausages and Hot Beaver Mustard. The sausages were so popular you risk loosing a hand by fellow paddlers getting one from the grill over a campfire.
I have several photos of NT at Raystown over they years and if you private message me with an email address I'll send them to you to print out. Fish and sausages included.Sorry I have no photos on a image site with a link to.
Again my condolences, billinpa
