I'm showing my age and this is how!

Velcor is good stuff for boots, still gotta lean over but I don't have tie a knot. I call them my old man boots and have no shame wearing them to work or at home!

When my feet are icy cold I come in roll up my pants so I don't wear them out by walking on them but look like a dork! I do make sure they aren't tucked into my socks! In my family history that would be called an "Uncle Arlo". Gotta know the guy to make it work.

Then I put on my slippers, the tongues are forever flipped down and look dorky as well but they are comfortable and warm!

Then I sit in front of the wood stove while it is cranked to an ungodly temperature and call it good!

At least my can of liquid courage is cold!

in the first grade, I would never have this psychological hang up that every one is smarter than me. How come all the smart kids knew how to tie their shoes, and I came home from school ever day with mine untied, and then ended up getting chewed out.

Doug, you forgot you need to have a glass of wine as you sit in front of that wood burner and solve the problems of the world.

you'd be in style. I don't think there are many school kids that tie their shoes anymore and you'd now be considered 'cool'. :)
It's also not 'cool' to wear a jacket, no matter how cold it may be outside.

  replace those slippers.

I'm on my second pair, the latest probably 6 or 7 years old now, and they look pretty much exactly like Doug's.

but just with a lazy tongue, kinda like my old dawgs! ;-) Kinda reflects how I feel towards the end of a long day! Mighty warm and comfortable though, might be the best pair I've had in a long while. Gotta love a good slipper after a long day in winter boots!
