All the global warming alarmists should be so embarrassed, were it not for their shamelessness. Tell me a prediction of theirs they actually were correct on. The one in the subject line is a great comedy first aired in the UK. I particularly love the "ice free arctic!"

that we will have warmer winters and less cold spells and now are claiming they saw this coming all along? Bwahahahahashaha!!
This is one...|
Posted by: al_a on Feb-12-14 10:27 PM (EST)
of the reasons nothing significant will be done about AGW...It's too easy to see one bad winter in one part of one country and jump on it as justification for ignoring the whole thing. This is a matter of looking at worldwide trends over decades, not single seasons in single regions. Even those people who said snow would be a thing of the past (wherever they meant that to happen) didn't say it would be a thing of the past by the winter of 2013-2014 in the eastern half of North America. One bad winter, or one super hot summer, is going to happen now and then, and we're still figuring out HOW it happens. But when one bad winter these days ends up being something close to the average winter a few decades ago, while one hot summer ends up being a new record, then the trends are pointing in a certain direction.

The last time Wisconsin had as many sub zero days in a row as this was in 1979! So you can throw around all the BS you want about average winters but there is no denying the fact that if global warming was like the Ipcc says, these record setting cold spells should be a thing of the past!

The article isn't a running conversation with Viner. He never said there would be no more snow. He said the winters are getting warmer so if there are multiple years with little to no snow you could have a childhood without snow. You could also have more extreme winters. Moreover conjecture about regional changes is not a comment on AGW.

Ya, sure is. It's screaming, "It's cold as _______." The AGW crowd are easily the most irresponsible soundbite makers in modern history. I guess that's why I like rubbing your noses in it. The reason the Left has adopted it as a cause du jour is because they want all the Marxist/Fascist control it has the potential of. Fits so many here to a T.

believe the arctic would be ice free, the Antarctic would lose massive amounts of ice. Guess again. Now the story is:
Posted by: OC1 on Feb-14-14 2:50 PM (EST)
Again, you're cherry picking.
Posted by: dogmatycus on Feb-14-14 2:55 PM (EST)
Overall ice mass in Antarctica is growing. What is being shed are the shelves that ground off the rock shelf and allowed seawater to infiltrate underneath the ice. See, we never get the full story from you guys. But we do get to laugh at the "global warming scientists" who get trapped for weeks in the ice.
Posted by: OC1 on Feb-14-14 3:06 PM (EST)
The old meme|
Posted by: rWVen on Feb-14-14 3:16 PM (EST)
was that Antarctica was gaining ice because of increased snowfall due to (ta-da!) Glowbull Warming! Now, somehow, it's gaining sea ice (presumably because it's colder) losing land ice (according to the old meme because it's colder) yet the new meme says its gaining sea ice and losing land ice because its warmer.
You're a little confused|

I guess you just happened to miss this|
Posted by: bignate on Feb-14-14 6:50 PM (EST)
“'On average, January will give you 9 inches of rain in the mountains. We got 0.2,' said Dave Rizzardo, chief of DWR's snow survey section. The department reported that 2013 was California’s driest calendar year on records going back to 1895"

Posted by: OC1 on Feb-15-14 10:41 AM (EST)
we haven't set any weather records in thousands of years, because it was much warmer in the Eemian, and much colder during the Pleistocene...
That reasoning is valid|
Posted by: rWVen on Feb-15-14 2:46 PM (EST)
because a record is only valid in a very narrow context. The context being the time period being recorded. Against the scope of the age of Earth's climate a 70 - 100 year old record is of little to no value.
