Perhaps OP is one of the few of us that is getting stronger with age. Most of us, after a plateau in the mid twenties, start heading in the other direction, which is where Kevlar or better yet, a carbon/Kevlar combination comes into play. Stiffer, lighter, stronger, ie better performance on water, easier to carry, less likely to be damaged.
