  Current designs Kestrel
Posted by: Waterbird on Apr-22-13 9:13 PM (EST)

Another kayak to look at is the Current Designs Kestrel in composite or kevlar. It used to be made in thermoformed plastic (called TCS) and you can still sometimes find a used one in TCS. Old Orchard shows a used TCS in stock for $1000:

--Very large cockpit (18.5 x 39; depth 14")
--Light (43 lbs in composite or TCS; kevlar 39 lbs)
--Excellent glide

Main drawback: It's 26" wide. But it paddles nicely for that width.
