Kayaking Garden City

I am going to Garden City area on June 22 for a week with the family. Should I bring my kayaks? Are the waves too much for a kayak there. I will surf fish and maybe try the pier but is there somewhere I can kayak fish and what will I possibly catch to eat?

Sorry didn't know there was more than one. I mean the one in SC. Staying on the beach and I have kayaked the ocean plenty of times in the Destin area. I believe the waves are smaller there. Maybe kayak the marsh area if there are fish. I will be using SOT kayaks. Ocean kayak Scrambler xt. for fishing,
