I prefer no flex ...

Most of my paddling is at hard exercise pace with a carbon wing blade / stiff shaft. I like all of my effort to go into driving the boat forward.
I don't buy the idea that flex in a paddle protects muscles and joints. We are paddling in water, not wet cement. It has enough 'give' without using a paddle that flexes.
If you are experiencing joint problems it could be as a result of poor technique, age, previous injuries, amount of effort you are applying, etc. I don't believe a flexible paddle will make much difference.
A stiff blade/shaft gives instant feedback, there is no vagueness to it's response. I prefer that, others may not.
