There is a way to incorporate SOL's (standards of learning) into field trips. Example- science-1.8- identifying natural resouces & realizing that they are limited, 2.4- understanding the life cycles of plants & animals. It can be done but it's not easy.

That's the point--it isn't easy! Teachers don't have the time or energy to jump through political hoops that don't matter.
