Seemed familiar... Posted by: rutherfa on May-23-12 7:28 PM (EST)
Something seemed awfully familiar about the Kelly kettle, and it dawned on me. I had seen a product from a guy trying to start his own company to make a similar device for back country hikers. Anyone who donated money to the start-up would get a product. While very similar to a Kelly kettle, the purpose seemed to be emphasized on extremely light weight for backpack portability. Here's the kickstarter.com page for his fundraising: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1763800459/backcountry-boiler-hot-water-from-found-fuel And the new company's webpage: http://www.theboilerwerks.com/ The Kelly looks like a more robust product that can be used for larger groups and with more flexibility. Can anyone comment about the feasibility of each for a hiker versus a paddler?
