  Alcohol stoves

I use a Swedish army Triangia stove a fellow paddler sold me. I like it. The main advantage is that there are no moving parts so there is nothing to break. Also, it is possible to make an alcohol stove out of a soft drink can-look it up on the internet and I have done it before. As an aside, a different paddler showed me how to fish without a reel using a soft drink can-my reel had broke on a canoe trip.

It is not hard to find denatured alcohol. I buy it by the gallon in the hardware store. It is also possible to buy it by the quart. It is also good for cleaning glass, etc.
