Learned a few things in this article, was well written, liked the test format...but I got a real laugh out of the answer to question 20...I'm willing to bet that heating your water to 1000 degrees Celsius (I've never seen a backpacking kiln before) would kill pretty much everything. Might take a few days before it would be cool enough to make a cup of tea, though. Oh, and you'd better use a high pressure pottery vessel...at 1000 degrees, glass is pretty malleable.
