Nice little article but I feel that leaving out the SPOT system missed an inportant feature. With the spot system you leave messages with selected contacts at the oush of a button directly to their phone or pc, you can call 9/1/1 and you can be tracked on google earth. Actually a very good system being used now by many bush pilots. It also has the OK button when pushed it delivers the I'm OK signal and your position to who ever you programmed into the list.
