  Weathercocking

Bravo Jeff! As this years segment of paddling around Cape Breton Island, we spent a hard three hours crossing Ingonish Bay (8km). We experienced everything you noted, heading into/across 40 to 50 km winds from the northwest, and no place to hide. Even knowing about the effect and how to counteract the cocking, I was pretty well wasted by the time we made North Ingonish Harbour. Great explanation. Thanks,
Fred Hill
