There is a bottle of Sailor Jerry's rum somewhere with your name on it...my dad used to say, "A lot of people mean well, they just don't know what "well" means." I think you do. For a long time I have looked at the evolution of kayaking...how everything that floated and was propelled by a double paddle was called a kayak. How the sport of recreational kayaking blossomed into the sit-on-top fishing platforms replete with multiple rod holders, live boxes, fish finders and whatever else. Marshall McKewen (sp?) once said that the media was the message. He was referring to TV I believe but we could easily compare it to much of what has happened in kayaking. I raise my iced tumbler of rum, lime juice and coconut milk to you as the shade of the palm tree cools us. May the shimmer of tranquil waters forever reflect off the blades of your paddle.
