  Don't short the shortie!
Posted by: dbwesq on Jan-04-12 3:57 PM (EST)

Good article but you omitted my personal favorite: the shortie wet suit. I use my farmer john style 2mm from late march to May and from October thru most of the winter. It keeps the core warm. When the combined temp gets under 100 I add a waterproof pair of paddling pants knee high boots and necessary layers on top. But the key is the comfort of a shortie farmer john style. On days in April,May, October and November that warm up even into the 70s I haven't felt over heated at all, rather I lost a few extra pounds. So don't short the shortie! ...db
