I have a 19&3/4" wide Rumor. I have a variation that used a brace, since you cannot get your legs in once you bottom is in. I straddle just behind the cockpit. I sit on one end of my paddle which is straight out sideways at 90 degees. The paddle is providing a brace so it is essential to keep the boat healed slightly into the paddle. The paddle brace allows putting one leg in, then the other, prior to lifting your bottom up with you arms (hands placed just behind the cockpit, Once you legs are in, you use you arms to lift you bottom over the back of the cockpit combing and drop into the seat. With practice this can be done very quickly which can be necessary if the period between breaking waves is short, as it is when playing in the surf.
