Hi, I've found that neoprene diving boots with a light rubber overboot make a nice combo during colder periods. I use the overboot (Tinley) to launch my canoe and remove them once underway. The diving shoe is warm even if it becomes wet, and flexible enough not to restrict circulation when I paddle kneeling.
Another product I like for warmer mo.s are Vibrams five fingers with Injinji toe socks, very comfortable.
Be well..
