HI, good comments. I personally have never had trouble with critters...except a raccoon that stole a quart of milk off our table...lived in Kodiak, Alaska and camped in bear country a lot. Cleanliness and proximity to camp are probably best bets...that and a good bear-proof canister. Thanks for your comments. TOM
