hard baits and canoes

We found the x-rap subwalker a killer for spotted sea trout but in the FLorida Bay near Flamingo the weeds on the incoming tide drove us nuts. The soft baits with a small weighted hook set up in weedless manner did not even pass without collecting a handful of grass. For freshwater bass, better than the purple worm, the Rat-l-trap when the bottom was clear of branches and stumps was my ticket for success. The weedless soft baits such and the Zoom watermelon 5" with a 4-0 or 5-0 weedless hook brought out the hungry bass in the Kissimmee River basin of Florida but bass over 8-10 lbs keep their distance from the Zoom baits (?) and the rat-l-traps....
