Jerry,

I haven't suffered through this; the Houston economy is still humming and my company still going strong. I do offer my best wishes to you and hope you do land that 'once in a lifetime' catch.
I enjoy reading your column, and take the wisdom as I can. I enjoy fishing from kayak and canoe, as well as from the bank, and use it both as relaxation, re-creation, and for serenity. I have also used it as a 'carrot' in helping me to get certain projects done, as in putting off the fishing trip until xxxx is competed. I am now finding that I need some fishing/paddling time even when my projects are not yet done!
Good luck and best wishes,
Brian Sherwood
Houston, Tx

It's amazing how many jobs there are out there, to be honest. Some companies are downsizing, but others are rockin' ...

I've got some nibbles on lines I have in the water, so I'm hopeful.

But mark my words, I *will* be on the water Sunday or Monday. It's time.
