I took one of the sharp barbed hooks on a new treble hook from a Rapala lure right into the meaty tip of my index finger! Worst pain I have ever felt! Couldn't extract by depressing the hook because the barb would get caught so had to push tip out through skin, clip off with pliers and re-thread back out through the wound hole. I held my hand in the cold, northern lake water all the way home and endured its throbbing for the rest of the day. Ouch!!
