I got a $160 ticket for letting my canoe stick out. I did not have the bed extender, but i asked if that would be legal. NO - nothing can stick out 4foot past the edge of you bed(not tailgate). This is the case even if you have it red flagged. When talking to other people that haul their boats similarly, everyone seems to think it just depends on the mood you catch the law enforcement officer in.
